The Suspenseful Story of Witchcraft & Handkerchief

Shalini, a 24-year-old woman, formerly worked in Chandigarh used to live in Hamirpur. She was missing her family and home, so on Diwali she made the decision to spend a week there. After six months, she was quite eager to return home, so the next morning at five in the morning, she got a direct bus. She had to switch buses midway through the trip when she learned that the same route was undergoing road maintenance. She had to travel two brief kilometers when the bus let her off a bit behind her house, two hours late. She wasn't prepared for this, thus she was upset with her journey. She set off on her trek without eating breakfast, and now she was thirsty and famished. There was nothing left in her bottle to relieve her thirst.

She came onto a (little river stream)khad, a few ways ahead, and chose to drink the water. However, she wasn't sure if it was safe to do so because she had heard that the
area was haunted by bad spirits. She saw a man with no head and an axe in his hand as soon as she made the decision to drink the water from it. With a loud yell, the handkerchief she was carrying in her right hand dropped to the ground. She fainted out in this manner.

However, she was in her room when she regained consciousness. Shalini's safe return made her family members all delighted, and they all began to worship their deity. Shalini inquired of her cousin how she entered the home after she passed out next to the khad.

Subsequently, her cousin clarified that their neighbors had informed Shalini's father that his daughter had fallen and was right now at bus stop. However, Shalini stated that despite her memory, she is perfectly aware that she faints when she is close to the khad.

She talks to her mother about the same issue, wondering how it could be that no one travels near Khad due to stories of bad spirits being there. Her mother gave her advice to focus on being thankful to God that she is home safely and to avoid thinking too much.

She asked God, but the issue of who had taken her to the bus top from Khad continued to trouble her. That same night, when she went to sleep, she experienced a nightmare in which she saw a pale shadow of an elderly woman with disheveled hair and a white clothing. She noticed the woman, who happened to be her aunt from next door, warning her not to approach the khad since it was not a safe place for her. This time, she claimed, you were spared from the ghost of guy who was trying to murder you as you were sipping water. He had an axe in his hand but no head. Nevertheless, I escorted you to the bus stop and protected you from him.

She continued, saying, "I'm hanging your handkerchief on the branch of your garden's mango tree because you forgot it, Shalini. Never go there and take care of yourself." Her final instructions to her were, "Don't tell anyone about this dream."

She then vanished from Shalini's dream, and when she awoke, she questioned her mother about the same neighbor's aunt. Her mother responded that the woman had died from typhoid three weeks prior. Shalini was devastated by her passing since, as a youngster, she had spent a lot of time playing with her beloved aunt.

She suddenly remembered the handkerchief hanging from her dream, so she hurried to her garden's mango tree and noticed that the handkerchief she had forgotten close to Khad was hanging on the tree's limb.
